The Chicago Chapter of
the American Payroll Association
is an organization of payroll professionals. The Chicago Chapter was
established in 1983 as the first local chapter for payroll professionals in
the State of Illinois. The Chapter is managed by a group of volunteers
who dedicate their time and share their knowledge with chapter members. |

In addition,
you were interested in: Garnishments, FLSA, Stock Plans, Wage
Assignments, Multi State Taxes, Tips, Technical Software, Local Taxes and
Ethics.
Surveys have shown that the members preferred meetings on Wednesdays
or Thursdays, with 63% of the respondents being morning folks and
preferring a.m. meetings.
The other area, which didn't raise any eyebrows either, was the location
of the meetings. 34.5% preferred the suburbs, 21% preferred the
downtown Chicago area and 44.5% stated that they were willing to travel to
either, they didn't have a preference.

Chicago Chapter Hotline –
(Mary Kazmierczak) The hotline committee will be responsible for accessing
and answering the calls made to the Chapter’s voice mailbox. We are looking for
volunteers that can agree to check voice mail at least once a day for a month and respond to the calls. This may include answering
questions, recording attendees for meetings and forwarding messages to the Board as appropriate. |

Meeting Planning

We are looking for volunteers that can help with planning the meetings
including choosing topics and finding speakers, as well as finding locations for next
years meetings. |

National Payroll Week – (Mary
Kazmierczak) We are looking for volunteers that can help with obtaining
proclamations from the various cities and the State. We also have the privilege of talking
with radio stations, newspapers and educational institutions to promote National Payroll Week. |

Nomination committee
– (To be
assigned) This group of volunteers will verify the membership and
credentials of those members wishing to run for election in August 2006. |

Membership
– (Paula

group will help promote membership in the Chicago Chapter.
Also making wellness calls to our
members, working to increase membership and
communications to our members. |

Holiday Party
–
(Mary Kazmierczak) Volunteers will help plan this special event including entertainment, soliciting door prizes and location for next year. |

Hospitality
Committee –
handling registration at
meetings, responsible for gathering and
distributing communications provided from
members at meetings to the board for follow up,
Welcoming members at Chapter events.

Assist with the planning and
preparations for the annual Illinois Statewide

importance of education and providing knowledge
and clear expectations about their paycheck. As
well as seeking and recommending creditable
speakers for meetings. |
