25th
Anniversary Party Recap A team of creative minds, a whirl wind of ideas, an opening
poem spinning past, present and future together, Dan Maddux in a sparkling
suit of silver, a nerd, a cheerleader and what do you get? An evening
filled with memories, laughter and fun. The Chicago Chapter has taken
its first steps into the next quarter century in grand style! Here
are some comments from some of the people that attended the party: The shimmering attendance by the APA
Executive Director, Dan Maddux, had the event attendees heads spinning in
delight. Past officers mingled with old acquaintances and sparked new
relationships with current members. From the exhilarating rendition of
“ Chicago that Toddling Town ” to surprise appearance from the spirit
of 1983, the Chicago Chapter spun into the 25th Celebration!
Attendees came from far and wide to reminisce about the days gone by. . .
sharing stories and poking fun just like at any family reunion. Just
wanted to say that I had a marvelous time on Friday night at the 25th
Anniversary Party for the Chicago APA Chapter. Good food, great people and
Dan Maddux is a great speaker. Now, anytime some one is asking me something
about him, I will think of him as "the guy in the pimp suit". Due
to fact that this was the first time I have heard him speak. Laurel White, FPC I wanted to tell that the 25th
anniversary dinner was great. Once again, Dan Maddux made a great speech. My
husband was very impressed. I thank you all those involved in taking time out
of their busy lives to make all the arrangements. Angela R Pellerito, CPP What a wonderful memorable event at
the silver anniversary party! I was touched, both personally and
professionally. What came through so clearly is the camaraderie and
support between the officers which also extends to the members. I felt
like I was coming home and it was a great feeling! Even Dan said that he
thought it was a great to be at the party and it reminded him to the core of
why he is here! Thank you so much for carrying the torch and continuing to
bring new people into the mix. Thank you for the work you do for our
industry, our members, and for the public service work that you do. Sue Darring, CPP Page 2 |

Please Volunteer –We need
your HELP! National Payroll Week –
Sept 1-5, 2008 We need your ideas and help planning the events
for NPW. We need a community event
that our members can participate in.
Any ides. Send them to the
chapter mailbox. Can you help send
out proclamations to the various cities and the State? Any and all suggestions for NPW are
welcome. APA News: As the nation’s leader in payroll education since
1982, APA is pleased to introduce an exciting new extension of our
business—the launch of the American Accounts Payable Association (AAPA) and
an electronic magazine, AP Journal Online! With the AP profession being so
closely tied to Payroll, this endeavor is a natural outgrowth for the APA. Our managing editor, Frank Mendelson (fmendelson@americanaccountspayable.org) is eager to work
with your colleagues to help them publish short, practitioner-oriented
articles that capture their experience and news on those forward-looking
issues that advance the field. Please
contact him directly or visit www.americanaccountspayable.org/signup to suggest article
topics or volunteer to write an article. RELAY
FOR LIFE JUNE 20TH The event will take place at the Oak Brook Park
District starting at 6pm on Friday and running until 6am on Saturday morning.
We still need you to support the 2 teams, Team NPW & Team CAPA. Anyone wishing to join a team is welcome. Please sign up for Team NPW. Christine
O’Hara is the captain. There are
other ways of supporting your chapter team members. One is by making a donation to the team or your favorite team
member. If you do not want to join a team but want to see what Relay is all
about, come out that evening, hang out and cheer us on or walk the
track. This event is great time to
get to know your chapter members better.
The website is: WWW.RELAYFORLIFEOHB.COM If you have any questions, feel free to contact
Katie Staffeldt at 630-742-7747 or send me an email at coasterk8@yahoo.com The Challenge is ON!! We have sent an email to the Milwaukee Chapter to
challenge them to see which chapter can raise the most money. We need your help to “Spin to the Top” of
