Happy New Year

2008

2008 is an exciting year for the Chicago Chapter of the American Payroll Association.  We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary.  We are so excited about this moment in our chapter’s history.  We became a chapter shortly after the American Payroll Association became the National Chapter for Payroll Professionals.   Be sure to join us on April 25th for our all out Celebration Party.

New for this year we have a Membership Committee.  Thank You to Paula Black, Kathleen Mizejewski and Pat Gaughan for volunteering to help with the chapter’s membership.

A committee member will be contacting you to update your information for the chapter.  They will also be contacting other payroll departments at many companies to inform them about our chapter and the many things that we do to help payroll professionals advance their knowledge of payroll.   Our members are what keeps the chapter going.

If you would like to help with other chapter events please see the following information in this newsletter.

Also, new this year, is Our Health Tip Article presented by Chiro One Wellness Centers.   Please see the article at the right.  Let us know your thoughts.

"How To Start Your Year Off Healthy"

Happy New Year!  To start off the year, the most important thing to do after the stresses from the holiday season to the new stresses that are quickly coming up with the upcoming year is make sure you get a check up.  A check up should include getting any physical exams from your M.D. or D.C. and also blood work to make sure all your blood chemistries are within normal limits.  This will allow you to have important information about your health allowing you to set exercise programs or other activities which you might start doing.  This is a great way to become aware of your health, prevent any future injuries, and also help start decreasing the stress levels in your life.

How the event works:

Employees donate $5 to take part in your company's "Wear Red Day," which can be any day of the year! They buy the right to wear jeans and red to work and feel good because they're supporting the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Participate in national and local Go Red For Women activities including National Wear Red Day, Go Red For Women local luncheons, and encourage your employer to host a Brown Bag Goes Red lunch.  www.goredforwomen.org
