The main focus of the Chicago Chapter is payroll education by holding quarterly meetings and conducting Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) review classes that provide networking opportunities and give payroll professionals the chance to earn educational credits for attendance. The Chicago Chapter supports other charitable activities by volunteering time and making donations. During National Payroll Week the Chapter organizes for the members, a blend of educational, networking, and community service opportunities.

Annually, toward the end of the year, the Chicago Chapter members and supporters of the payroll profession gather in the evening to attend a Holiday Party, donate new toys or clothing to needy children, and celebrate the accomplishments of members, volunteers, and sponsors.
